A fascinating presentation by Robert Goldsmith, one of only a handful of people in the world to visit the wrecksite.

Below are three short video clips of the Titanic wreck and the launch and retrieval of the Mir submersibles.

During the presentation you will see these videos in there entirety and now digitally enhanced.

This clip shows the wreck of the Titanic laying 2 and a half miles down at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. Because she lies at such an extreme depth, only a handful of people in the world have had the opportunity to dive to her.

This clip shows the recovery of the submersible Mir 2. Retrieving the submersible from the Atlantic is a very hazardous undertaking. (especially in the dark!) It's easy for something to go wrong.

The sub is very carefully lifted out of the water and placed back in it's special hanger on board the research vessel Keldysh.
